Why Upgrade?
Seed upgrading technology provides users with pre-sowing treatments designed to increase percentage, speed and uniformity of germination and alleviate dormancy when present.
Percentage
By upgrading, the fraction of viable seeds costs are reduced and quality improved. Techniques such as single seed sowing can be used afterwards.
Uniformity
Since IDS is able to sort seeds based on quality, you are assured that lots can be separated based on growth characteristics, ensuring uniform development.
Speed/Dormancy
SeedTek is able to jump-start the seed’s ‘wake-up’ process meaning that nursery growth times are reduced and quality assured.

Here is a comprehensive summary of our seed upgrading percentages conducted with past clients. As one can see in the table that the initial germination percentages are significantly lower than the final numbers shown on the right hand column.
